CEVR Director Named to CBO Health Advisory Panel
Peter Neumann, Sc.D., has been selected to serve as a member of the Congressional Budget Office's Panel of Health Advisers for 2014. He is one of 22 experts and leaders tapped by the CBO to offer his insights on the latest developments in healthcare delivery and financing.
Pei-Jung Lin, Ph.D., has just published a paper “Unintended Benefits: The Potential Economic Impact of Addressing Risk Factors to Prevent Alzheimer's Disease,” in the April 2014 issue of the journal Health Affairs. The paper has received press coverage in Becker's Hospital Review.
CEVR researcher wins ISPOR Paper of the Year
James Chambers, Ph.D., has received the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) Award for Value in Health Paper of the Year for 2014. His paper "Illustrating Potential Efficiency Gains from Using Cost-Effectiveness Evidence to Reallocate Medicare Expenditures," published in the June 2013 issue of the journal Value in Health, was selected for this yearly honor. Chambers will receive his award in late May at the ISPOR 19th Annual International Meeting in Montreal.
CEVR researcher awarded diabetes grant
Pei-Jung Lin, Ph.D., has received a $30,000 research grant from the Boston Area Diabetes Endocrinology Research Center to conduct a one-year pilot study. She will estimate the costs of multiple chronic conditions among adults with diabetes.
Peter Neumann, Sc.D.,will take part in a panel discussion on the “Challenges to Managing Big Data,“ at 2:15 p.m., Thursday, April 3, at the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council Annual Meeting at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge.
